August 15, 2007 (Followed by update August 19, 2007): REGARDING LEO CYCLE - August to September 2007 Hello Moonies!
Trusting that you have had an opportunity to read my previous post on the Leo Moon (or that you've received my Moon-thly Newsletter), I am ready to post a few more tidbits of information to keep you moving smoothly through this hot & fiery Lunar cycle.
I forgot to mention in my newsletter what the Sabian Symbol for the degree of the Leo New Moon. And the thing is that, this one symbol is so very picturesque, that it's insane not to share it!
So, Dr. Marc Edmund Jones' Sabian Symbol for the 20th degree of Leo is: "The Zuni Sun Worshippers." And furthermore, Lynda Hill's modern rewording of Dr. Jones' work is: "American Indians Perform a Ritual To The Sun." So, let's work on those to give us more insight to this specific Leo Cycle, shall we? For starters, I decided to look up some images that might help us visualize the components of this piece. Here are the next two I would like us to ponder on:   The first one, of course, is our Sun itself – that awesome, life supporting gaseous star of fire that shines upon our Earth so lovingly. I thought is would be nice to just look at this picture and feel the energy emanating from our Beloved Star…
The second one is a Zuni interpretation of their Father God, The Sun (Mother being The Moon). I researched a bit on the Zuni traditions and it appears that they have been able to maintain most of their customs and lifestyles as intact as possible given the Spanish invasions to their land. They still live in the same region as they did in the approximate 1700 year period before the Spanish arriving here and they still maintain their very unique language. It is believed that they are the direct descendants of the famed Anasazi tribe. In other words, they have a long, and respected lineage that connects them to this Earth in very deep ways which they continue to value. They believe, as do much of the Native tribes throughout the Americas and every other tribal community, that Humanity is out of touch with the Earth Mother and with Nature…that we are all part of the same Natural Body of Existence and in being out of balance with the remaining parts of Nature, Humanity is not in good shape. They are masters of ‘time-keeping’ and employ their Sun Priests to track the Sun’s passages. They revere the Sun and Moon, as well as all Animals. They are well known for their ‘fetishes’ which are carved animals representing the magickal spirit of the animal. They live in the New Mexico/Arizona area which happens to be my favorite place on Earth – traveled as I have in my time, I know that my Heart remains impartial to this region – there is something quite powerful about that rich, red Earth, and those majestic red rocks. I feel ‘grounded’ when I am traveling through Arizona and New Mexico…like I am Home, like there’s a Presence in that red haven that is perfectly still…
Ah, ok, so let’s consider again some additional pictures. Here we see an actual picture of Zuni Sun Priests doing their Sun Ritual Dance:
When I think of the Sun, which rules the zodiacal sign Leo, I automatically feel like moving, dancing, celebrating and throwing my whole heart into the Rhythm of Life! It doesn’t matter that my own Sun Sign is Pisces (the watery Fish); the point is that I FEEL the Sun’s radiating heat, its massive fiery flares, its intense energizing power, within my very Spirit! I may not be a Lion (Leo), but I sure know what it’s like to feel like I’m the Queen of my Domain! See, Leo is a very passionate and alive sign, that rises up with its unique Light, just as does its planetary ruler, The Sun. And in this Sabian Symbol, we get to presence a magnificent event – a celebration, a dance dedicated to Life, a powerful acknowledgment to the giver of Life and Light – The Sun – whom best represents that dynamic aspect of the Divine: Spirit in its Masculine form (God).
And this is what this month is inviting us to do! We need to get up and DANCE TO LIGHT and TO LIFE! Those of you who are dancers or at least indulge in that intoxicating movement of your body and limbs to the beat and rhythm of music, know very well what I’m talking about! When you feel ‘it’ moving through you, the creative life-giving force flows through you directly from Spirit/God/Dess! And it’s a celebration! And here is where we, as a Human Race, have been totally disconnected from Nature. You see, we are so very disconnected from our own bodies and from our passion – both of which are the expressions of the dual aspect of the Great Spirit – our bodies as form is the Divine Feminine/Mother/Matter so beautifully depicted by the Moon herself, and the Passion of Life itself is the breath of the Divine Masculine/Father/Spirit, so perfectly embodied in the Sun. When we have a New Moon, the Sun and the Moon, have come together in Hieros Gamos or Sacred Union. (Sun/Moon Relationship as Father/Mother, Seed/Womb, Light/Shadow = Sacred Union) It is an Alchemical Marriage of the Divine Masculine and the Divine Feminine playing out for us, silly mortals, to view in awe, in total appreciation and to ‘Re-Member’ that this is also INSIDE OF US! As the Sun and Moon make love at each New Moon, it spurs off a 28-day Cycle here on Earth – the Divine Child (that be ‘us’ as part of the ‘body’ of Earth, my dears!). And we have the option of working with the energy seeded by their Cosmic Union in a very conscious manner, or we can just continue ‘sleeping’ and continue to create dis-harmony on Gaia, perpetuating imbalance of the Elements within our bodies and on our Mother Earth Body…and thereby risking extinction. To me, the Celestial Bodies that we romanticize and love to watch, are more than just pretty lights in our skies or mysterious planets to invade with all manner of NASA equipment…they really are Mirrors of our too-long-forgotten-Divine-Selves, just trying to get us to wake up. I may be a Dreamer, but you know, I still believe we have a bit more time…I still believe that we have a few more opportunities to heal ourselves, to heal our planet, and thereby heal our entire Cosmos… IF WE LISTEN.

So, let’s listen again to the whisperings – no, scratch that, make it ROARING of this particular Leo New Moon: Zuni Sun Worshippers.
What are the Zuni Sun Priests telling us? Maybe that it’s time we begin to invoke the help of our Ancestors…the Natives who once held this Earth Walk as Sacred. Perhaps some of the Traditions of the Native Tribes would help us now, as we heal our own Hearts (note that Leo & the Sun ‘rule’ the Heart in the human body, and by extension our Heart Chakra). Maybe to heal Gaia, we need to spend time healing our Hearts of all the Shadow – not by throwing out the Shadow like we’ve done for millennia, but the way the various Shamanic Traditions have always done: by engaging it and acknowledging it in order to honor its Lessons. Maybe, as we heal our own individual Hearts and Heart Chakra issues, we are simultaneously healing the Earth’s Heart. To honor and worship the Light of the Sun/Son, we must also acknowledge the Dark Womb of the Moon/Mother…my Dear Ones, there are no ‘coincidences’ in how our Skies speak to us, through the symbols of the planets, constellations and other lovely ‘signs’ here on Earth…it’s ALL meaningful…and we MUST PAY ATTENTION to what the Mother- God/Dess is saying! 
Saturn, the Lord of Karma and Time, sits even as I write this on August 15th, at nearly 28 degrees of Leo. That is within 1 degree of the Heart of the Lion, which the Ancient Astrologers/Astronomical Priests considered as one of the 4 Royal Stars. There is a long history here and well worth researching, but for brevity’s sake, I’ll quote Bernadette Brady (foremost Fixed Star researcher) on the meaning of this star: "gain great success by facing a particular nemesis." Now, is that not interesting? I feel like the Universe is speaking to us directly – that we hear the same message from many different sources which all serve to confirm what the other is saying! With all that we have faced in recent times, and it feels like last month’s Cancer New Moon amplified, this interpretation of Regulus is RIGHT ON! (I suggest you read the Cancer Cycle message at the bottom of this page so you can see how the 2 are linked).
Our ‘nemesis’ is that dark, scary, Shadow – those voices inside our head that keep snarling at us every time we attempt to do what has purpose and meaning to our Hearts. That nemesis is nothing more than the spectral ghost of something we have not forgiven…whether in ourselves or in others…and all we have to do is simply LOVE IT! Turn our faces towards what we have heretofore PERCEIVED as threatening and scary, look straight at it, and do 2 things: one is to tell it in no uncertain terms that its self-sabotaging behaviour is out of line and will no longer be accepted; and the other, which is the part that I guarantee will change your life, is to open your heart and allow LOVE to pour forth straight into this Nemesis! It’s that simple…and when I allow myself to connect with this Energy, I really get how simple it is to forgive the Past…the very act of opening up my Heart, is at first uncomfortable and even painful since I can actually FEEL the scars of the Past ripping through, but then I breathe, and my Heart continues to expand, and expand, and expand and something inside just feels like the stretching of it dissolves all the separation I once felt with the world ‘outside’ of myself…so that I now feel the world as a part of me, and the Fear is gone…dissipated. And only Love remains.
And that my Beloved Friends, is what Leo is asking us to do this month. It’s all for us to hope, open, love….it’s all a concentrated focus on the Heart, as the Sun, Giver of Life, impregnates the Moon, Womb of Life, with the Radiant Love of ALL. Let's all strive to embrace every aspect of ourselves, Light and Shadow, Male and Female, Inner and Outer, Above and Below - into a Cosmic Union within our very Heart - that place where Alchemy happens! Here, within our Heart, the All becomes One, and we are FREE!

UPDATE: August 19, 2007 regarding LEO CYCLE Well, this morning a sharp, shooting pain in my heart region woke me up. Petrified, I woke up my Beloved, Marcus and my son, Sebastian, thinking that I was having a heart attack. Sure enough, the pains continued as I battled between abject fear and choosing to stay focused on healing. While my son did Reiki on my Heart, Marcus hooked me up to the SCIO/QXCI Quantum Healing Machine to begin an assessment and biofeedback healing session. I was not a very good ‘patient’ as I kept slipping into fear, between momentary lapses into a strange otherworldly plane where I kept noticing the irony of the symbolic event…Leo the Lion rules the Heart and I knew that this month was one for healing the Heart and Heart Chakra issues. Most of the time, I was frustrated with Marcus, because he insisted on healing me and that I had to stay positive and focused on only the good, and not go into fear. Easier said than done when one is in the midst of such a scenario! Oh the Drama of it all! The humorous thing is that Leo-types are known for being the quintessential Drama Queens! After all this Archetype rules the Grand Stage! And here I was, living out my own personal LEO (and we all have Leo somewhere in our charts, folks!), in living colour, and very dramatically! I guess I forgot to take my own Leo New Moon advice about consciously healing the heart…so the energy must have gone ‘underground’ and struck up a deal with my unconscious to scare the bejeebers out of me this morning. This is why I truly believe that our Shadow WANTS to be healed, loved & integrated...even if it hurts us, eventually he/she WILL get our attention!  {Keep in mind, that our Shadow is composed of all those childhood fears, scars and wounds, which are locked into our physical body and are related to the 4th Archetype (Moon, Cancer, 4th natal house). There is a relationship between our Wounded Inner Child and our Frightening & yet Protective Inner Shadow. This is all currently up for healing. It became that much more intensified with last month's Cancer New Moon, accentuated by the movement of Venus & Saturn in Leo and a few other astrological configurations, which we are ALL feeling - every single one of us...so as you continue reading this little story about me, put yourself into these words and notice how it relates to your own Healing Journey.}
The assessment did turn out that there were cardio-related risks in my body – the Quantum Healing Machine correctly diagnosed my issue – but now I have to figure out what is at the Root of all this Heart-ache? Good thing that Marcus and I signed up to take (yet another workshop LOL!) a fabulous course called Radical Forgiveness. I know this is what I need to work on, not only for my own personal issues, but because I’m fully aware that this Leo Cycle is adamant about unloading the heavy weights from our Collective Human Heart. This is for me, and for all of Humanity.
So, that being said, let me ask you:
What makes your Heart ache? What resentment is causing energy blockages in your Heart Chakra? What are you refusing to forgive that is keeping adequate oxygen from flowing in and out of your Heart muscle? And most importantly, what are you going to do about it?
We used to have plenty of Time to work on our issues…lifetimes even…but you see, this is no normal lifetime…we are playing for keeps folks. I turned 40 years old this past March – that was weird for me and here I am facing my fears about ‘not having enough time’ to carry out my own particular Life Mission. I realize I’ve been putzing around, putting off until tomorrow so many things I dreamed of doing, and allowing strange fears to hold me back from really living the Life I came here to live! How heart-breaking is that?!
I just read that the average human being inhales somewhere between 18,000 and 20,000 breathes per day, which equals roughly 5,000 gallons of Air. Wow! That’s quite a lot! And to think that I tend to hold my breath in, sometimes just barely breathing as is evidenced by the state my Heart is in. Somehow, I’ve not trusted Life enough to allow the Breath of Spirit into my body. The book (Wheels of Life by Anodea Judith) continues to explain that that amount of air is 35 times more that what we take in from food or drink (in weight)…and that we cannot survive without Air for more than a few minutes. Anodea explains that Air is the element most related to opening the Heart Chakra. It makes me wonder of course, since I think in Astrological, Elemental and Alchemical terms, how that connects to the dissolving of the buried emotions that I, and we as a Collective, may be holding in our Hearts? I remembered that today I cried, which of course is the release of emotions through the Element Water…but even to cry, the human body must first take in a breat, which pushes the emotion out, along with the Watery tears. I also had to speak to Marcus today about why I was angry with him, and for my body to be able to speak my Truth, I first had to breathe in order to vocalize my thoughts and feelings. It’s amazing to consider how much our entire body reflects our deepest emotions when we resist healing them.
Well, with that I’d like to ask you another question or two:
What saddens you? What angers you? What deeply buried emotions would serve you now to release through breath and tears, Air and Water? What can you do to access your Heart – to open it up, painful as that may be at first, in order to allow the healing energy of the Breath of Spirit to enter?
Breathe in deeply. Hold it in your Heart for a moment, visualizing Spirit’s Love filling you up, and release the breath. And repeat. Do as many times as it takes for you to feel all those hidden spots inside your Heart – cry, allow yourself to cry because it hurts…I know it does, but better the emotional hurt and not the risk of your Heart giving you a more desperate wake up call. And when you’ve freed those tears that have been frozen inside for much too long, I promise you, you will feel lighter, just like Leo the Lion promised!

July 14, 2007 REGARDING CANCER CYCLE: July to August 2007 Hello my Moonies!
It's been awhile since I posted, so here I am getting back into the swing of things! And this month, we are working with the Cancerian frequency. The exact New Moon was at 22 degrees of Cancer on Saturday, July 14th at 8:04 am. And we are still in the 'new' phase through July 18th, so by now you should have an idea of what you might be 'needing' to work on for the next month.
If you have not already done so, please visit my website www.MoonCoach.com and be sure to read the Cancer New Moon article on the "New Moon Of The Month" page. This will give you an idea of what is up for all of us this month. You an tailor-fit your Intention to the Cancerian energies but be sure to take time to 'nurture' your Seed Intention as best as you can, especially if you have been working with one single key intention since the Aries New Moon.
I have noticed that a lot of women in particular have been having a rough time the past few weeks. I believe it's been because of 2 specific transits which are worth mentioning here, in light of the fact that they are connected to the Cancer New Moon and with the Divine Feminine (keep in mind that both the Moon and Venus represent the Feminine Archetype).
The first big transit has to do with Mercury. I am sure you are aware of the term "Mercury Retrograde." Well, this means that the planet of communication (and is mostly a `left-brain' planet) is moving in an apparently `backwards' motion in the celestial heavens. So, we would mostly feel our logical minds sort of going to `mush' under one of these transits and therefore astrologers urge folks not to sign important paperwork or make important decisions at this time. Well, the zodiacal sign this last Mercury Retrograde occurred was in Cancer, the most `mushy' of the signs- the sign most connected to the Emotional Realm and the Celestial Archetype least likely to act from an emotionally rational (isn't that an oxymoron?) perspective.
I am explaining this because it's important that you know these past 4 or so weeks, have been really unusually emotional for most folks, but more so for women…because Cancer rules Women, Mothers and Fertility, The Womb and Moontime. Wherever you have the sign Cancer in your natal chart is where you have been very, very sensitive lately. It's like our 'brains' have been switched off or at least been turned to the 'Emotion' dial, so clear thinking has been a little tough, and since we live in the USA where logic and all left-brain activities reign, it's been especially difficult for us.
And the 2nd transit I wish to briefly discuss is that we are also being `triggered' by Saturn's transit through the sign LEO (ruler of The Heart and of the Divine Child), alongside Venus. That's a LOT going on in both the Outer Sky and our Inner Sky all at once! Saturn rules Authority, as well as Structure and Tradition, and the Male Energy (aside from Mars of course)…and Venus rules the Goddess in us all (which is to say the Divine Feminine in women and men), the Law of Attraction, Beauty and Harmony. So, put all of this together and you see how Women especially may have been feeling restricted and overburdened with responsibilities…bringing up feelings of overwhelm & resentment and wanting to break free from the emotions that have been plaguing us. And since it's in Leo, it's our Heart Chakra that has been getting bombarded and feeling tight, sensitive and overburdened. BREATHE!
Yes, BREATHE! It is all good – we have needed these transits to re-connect to that Sacred Space within us all that is best named, GODDESS – or THE GREAT MOTHER, as well as to heal the emotions that have kept our Heart Chakras closed off or malfunctioning. We are healing our Heart Chakras individually and collectively...right along with Beloved Gaia/Earth healing her own Heart Chakra.
Another way of looking at it is that we are being asked to gain `closure' on issues having to do with our Mothers or with our Past, to heal our Hearts. Consider that transiting Venus just moved out of Leo (The Heart) and into Virgo (The Priest~ess), but will be going `Retrograde' right back into Leo later this month. When The Goddess of Love & Beauty does this, she will also trigger a Fixed Star known as Regulus, referred to by the Ancients as The Heart of The Lion. We will be given an opportunity then, to review our Hearts once again – to heal our emotional wounds, especially those that have kept us from shining and from feeling Joy. Once we are done with this work, we can move forward, aligning with the Goddess Archetype in Virgo, doing service for the good of All.
There is an important connection between Leo and Cancer, between Sun as ruler of Leo and Moon as ruler of Cancer…it is all about the Dance of Light and Shadow as These 2 Celestial Luminaries cast their patterns upon Gaia/Earth…in other words, it takes us into the Realm of Alchemy – otherwise known as Sacred Marriage or Hieros Gamos (as symbolized every month during the New Moon). Ah, but let's leave that subject for another time…just know that the more work you do this month with this Lunation, the `Lighter' you will feel when we are blessed by the Leo New Moon. Trust your Spirit – feel your feelings, but remember that you are not your emotions – they are simply `tools' for understanding deeper patterns at work in your psyche. So, do your best – breathe, breathe some more, journal any dreams you have and then analyze them in the Light of Day to see what they might be revealing to you about your Heart and Soul.
It is my hope that women (and the men who are in touch with their Inner Feminine) have been praying, invoking and connecting with the Divine Feminine this past month and I invite you to continue doing so throughout the next month, while this Lunation is under Cancer's beam. This is such a powerful time for checking in and asking ourselves, "What do I need to feel safe?" And, "What can I do to nurture myself?" And finally, "What do I need to heal from my Past with Mother, (or what Ancient Lineage needs releasing) so that my Heart Chakra is clear of any resentments?" If you can figure out the answers to just those 3 questions, you will be in a much better emotional place than you may have been in a long time.
